Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy and Colombian singer Shakira have attained a major milestone after their 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem “Dai Dai” surpassed one billion views on YouTube.
The official music video recorded more than 1,000,951,637 views and 7.8 million likes on Shakira’s YouTube channel, making it the first song released in 2026 to reach the billion-view mark.
“Dai Dai” was released on May 23, 2026, and was named the official song of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The collaboration blends Shakira’s Latin-pop sound with Burna Boy’s Afrobeats, and it gained massive traction during the tournament.
The duo also performed it at the World Cup opening ceremony in Mexico City and at the final halftime show.
The song is part of the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album alongside tracks from Davido, Ayra Starr and Rema.
Royalties from “Dai Dai” will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
The billion-view feat further boosts Burna Boy’s global profile and highlights the growing international reach of Nigerian Afrobeats while for Shakira, it marks her 10th music video to hit one billion views on YouTube.
