2027 Grammys: Asake Submits ‘Gratitude’ For Consideration In Three Categories

Nigerian Afrobeats artist, Ahmed Ololade popularly known as Asake, has reportedly submitted his song “Gratitude” for consideration at the 69th Annual Grammy Awards, with the track entered in three categories.

According to a report shared by Teeniiola, “Gratitude” is being considered for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Best African Music Performance.

However, the submission does not mean Asake has received a Grammy nomination.

The Recording Academy will review entries before voting determines the nominees for the 2027 Grammy Awards.

The 69th Annual Grammy Awards, also known as the 2027 Grammys, will take place on February 7, 2027, in Los Angeles. The Recording Academy will announce the nominees on November 16, 2026.

Asake already has two Grammy nominations. His song “Amapiano,” featuring Olamide, was nominated for Best African Music Performance at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in 2024.

He received another nomination in the same category at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards in 2025 for “MMS,” featuring Wizkid.

“M$NEY” reportedly targets Album of the Year and Best Global Music Album, while “Jogodo” seeks Best African Music Performance consideration. Meanwhile, “Worship” Asake’s collaboration with DJ Snake, reportedly enters the Best Dance Pop Recording category for the upcoming awards ceremony.

If “Gratitude” reaches the final nominations, it would give Asake another opportunity to compete at the Grammys across both a general-field category and the Best African Music Performance category. The final Grammy nominations will determine whether the song advances to the next stage of the awards process.
