UBA Gets New Group Chairman, Emmanuel Nnorom

UBA gets new Group Chairman

The United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has confirmed that UBA gets new Group Chairman in the person of Mr. Emmanuel Nnorom, succeeding Tony Elumelu.

Nnorom, a seasoned banker and long-serving Non-Executive Director on UBA’s board, will succeed Mr. Tony Elumelu, following the latter’s retirement.

The bank disclosed this on Monday during its Board of Directors meeting, saying the new leadership was necessary after the completion of the maximum 12-year tenure for non-executive directors prescribed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). This comes amid a wider decline in banking and industrial stocks affecting the market.
