The police in Adamawa State have arrested a 27-year-old man, Ali Haruna, for allegedly beheading a woman after having sex with the victim in a hotel.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the development while parading the suspect on Monday at the police headquarters in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
Haruna was arrested last Friday, August 14, on suspicion of beheading the woman, identified simply as Aisha, at a hotel called “No Vex” in Girei.
The suspect, whose permanent address was given as Kaleri in Maiduguri, Borno State, but lives in Digno, a community in Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa State, had told police investigators in Adamawa that he killed his female companion in a hotel in Girei Local Government Area of the state.
Answering questions from reporters while being paraded, Haruna recalled that while at the hotel, he and Aisha smoked Indian hemp and had sex, even though it was the first time they had met.
He also gave a gory account of how he beheaded the victim and drank her blood.
The police spokesman assured that the suspect murderer would remain in police custody until the conclusion of investigation, after which he would be charged in court.
