Prove Ekiti Origin Claims Against Me Or Risk Lawsuits, Yayi Tells Hunye, Marcus-Bello

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has given 24 hours ultimatum to two political figures in the state, Hon. Abayomi Hunye and Ambassador Folake Marcus-Bello, to prove allegations of his Ekiti State origin or face legal action.

Hunye is a factional governorship aspirant of the APC while Marcus-Bello is a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Zambia and Malawi.

Both Hunye and Marcus-Bello recently granted separate interviews on television where they claimed that Senator Adeola is an Ekiti State indigene.

But in a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro, the APC standard bearer accused Hunye and Marcus-Bello of making libelous and false claims without presenting any evidence.

Adeola, therefore, threatened to institute legal action against them if they failed to publicly prove their claims on his state of origin within the next 24 hours.

He said, “I watched in utter disbelief as these characters that I hardly know utter assertive and outrageous lies about my origin without any proof. One falsely claimed on TV that I am from Ekiti and when asked where exactly in Ekiti went moronically blank and could not provide an answer.”

The other one was lying about the locations of the graves of my parents as if she was part of the undertakers at the burial all in a futile effort to justify an unsustainable falsehood. Enough is enough.”

“They should produce their evidence in 24 hours or be ready for my lawsuits,” the APC governorship candidate affirmed.

Adeola insisted that the allegation of Ekiti State origin remained falsehood and was only resurrected to prevent his unstoppable move to a victorious outing in 2027.

“It will be recalled that the rumour of the Senator’s alleged Ekiti State origin was initially used as a propaganda tool to prevent his emergence as Senator representing Ogun West senatorial district but the gimmick failed to prevent the people of the district voting massively for him at the 2023 National Assembly Elections.

“This resurrection of the falsehood is pursuant of his seemingly unstoppable move to a victorious outing in the 2027 governorship race in Ogun State,” he said.
