Popular Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Pascal Iweh Odinaka, widely known as Poco Lee, is due to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court in London, United Kingdom over assault charges.
This followed reports of his arrest and remand in a United Kingdom.prison, which began to circulate online few days ago.
It was reliably gathered that Poco Lee will appear in court on September 15, 2026 over allegations relating to assault.
According to information from the court, the September hearing is listed as a plea and trial preparation hearing which means Poco Lee is expected to formally respond to the allegation as the legal proceedings move forward.
Benjamin Kuti, a UK-based Nigerian community advocate popularly known as the Oluomo of Derby, had previously disclosed the development.
Kuti, who is the founder of the Community of Nigerians in the UK, confirmed the dancer’s detention in a statement shared on social media on August 24.
He said he was privy to the case because he regularly attends court proceedings and supports Nigerians involved in legal matters in the UK.
“I can confirm that the reports are true. Poco Lee is currently on remand in a UK prison. His next court date is scheduled for the second week of September, when he is expected to have a plea hearing,” he said.
“I will also be attending the court proceedings as part of my support for the Nigerian community in the UK, to ensure that our fellow Nigerian receives the appropriate support during this difficult period of his life.”
“It is important that we allow the legal process to take its course. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. His hearing would be at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026, at exactly 10 am,” Kuti said.
In a correspondence with PUNCH on Tuesday, the court also confirmed the development, stating that the hearing would be open to members of the public.
The precise time and courtroom for the hearing would only be made available a day before the proceedings, the court added.
