Officer Woos Denies NDLEA Arrest Claims, Describes Reports as Defamatory.

Nigerian comedian and digital content creator Oladapo Gbadamosi, popularly known as Officer Woos, has dismissed viral reports linking him to alleged drug trafficking activities, describing the claims as false, malicious and defamatory.

The allegations gained traction across social media platforms after posts surfaced claiming that Officer Woos had been arrested by anti-drug authorities over the alleged importation of cocaine-laced baked products from Mexico. The reports further suggested that the entertainer had abandoned content creation to operate a high-end bakery business that catered to a select group of customers.

In a statement issued through his legal representatives, Gbadamosi firmly denied the allegations and maintained that there was no truth whatsoever to the claims being circulated online. He stressed that the publications were entirely fabricated and designed to damage his reputation and public image.

According to him, the matter has been handed over to his lawyers for appropriate legal action. He stated that the allegations lacked any factual basis and would be addressed through the proper legal channels, urging members of the public to disregard the reports.

The controversy highlights the growing challenge of misinformation and unverified claims on social media, particularly when public figures are involved. In recent years, several Nigerian celebrities, business leaders and public officials have had to publicly refute false reports that gained widespread attention online before being verified.

Industry observers note that the rapid spread of digital content has increased the reputational risks associated with misinformation, making legal recourse an increasingly common response. The situation also underscores the importance of fact-checking and responsible content sharing in an era where unverified claims can quickly gain national attention.
