NPFL Lands $7.5m Euromatch Title Sponsorship, Unveils New Logo

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has secured a three-year title sponsorship agreement worth $7.5 million with Euromatch Group as part of fresh commercial plans for the country’s top flight.

The agreement was unveiled on Wednesday at the Abuja Continental Hotel, where the NPFL also presented a new logo ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Under the agreement, Euromatch will commit $2.5 million annually for three seasons, taking the total value of the sponsorship to $7.5 million, estimated at more than ₦10 billion. The competition will consequently be known as the Euromatch NPFL.

One of the major features of the deal is the allocation of 60 per cent of the sponsorship proceeds directly to the 20 participating clubs.

This means $1.5 million of the $2.5 million annual sponsorship will go to the clubs each season, while the remaining 40 per cent will cover other aspects of the agreement.

NPFL Chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye said the decision to give the clubs the larger share was intended to ensure that the commercial agreement has a direct impact on players’ salaries and welfare.

“The deal is about $2.5m every season from EUROMATCH for three seasons. That is $7.5m,” Elegbeleye said.

He added that 60 per cent would go directly to the clubs and stressed that the additional income should be reflected in improved conditions for players.

The agreement ends the NPFL’s long wait for a major title sponsor, with reports indicating that the Nigerian top flight had gone about a decade without a title sponsorship arrangement of this nature.

Elegbeleye also said the league’s commercial strategy would place greater emphasis on promoting its players and improving their visibility rather than focusing attention on administrators.

Nigeria Football Federation President Ibrahim Gusau welcomed the partnership, describing it as an important development for domestic football and pledging the NFF’s support for measures aimed at improving the standard and commercial value of the league.

Euromatch Group Chairman Sadi Semih said the company was attracted by Nigeria’s large market and football talent. He said the partnership would seek to improve the NPFL’s international exposure and provide a bigger platform for Nigerian players to be seen outside the country.

The sponsorship was unveiled alongside a new NPFL logo, giving the competition a refreshed identity ahead of the new campaign. The rebranding forms part of efforts to improve the presentation, marketing and commercial appeal of the league.

The NPFL also announced a media partnership with Murphy Ben Inc., which is expected to include the transmission of league matches on the NPFL Live YouTube platform as well as player interviews, features and documentaries.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by Gusau, Elegbeleye and Euromatch officials, as well as former Super Eagles internationals Daniel Amokachi, Samson Siasia, Austin Eguavoen and Brown Ideye.
