Afro-fusion Artiste Jabba Announces New Single ‘True Love’

Nigerian Afro-fusion artiste Jabba is set to release his highly anticipated new single, “True Love” on August 21, 2026, offering listeners an emotionally charged yet groove-driven soundtrack that explores the complexities of modern relationships.

Featuring longtime collaborator Legend Harry, True Love is a laid-back Afropop/alté duet that blends soulful melodies with heartfelt storytelling.

Sung in both English and Nigerian Pidgin, the record captures the perspectives of two men navigating the emotional aftermath of love gone wrong, one who gives everything only to discover it is still not enough, and another who chooses to walk away from a relationship burdened by impossible expectations.

Driven by the memorable hook, “She said she wants some true love, and I gave her true love,” the song strikes a delicate balance between melancholy and hope, creating an infectious listening experience that resonates long after the music stops.

Rather than dwelling on heartbreak, True Love transforms emotional vulnerability into a warm, groove-filled anthem that invites listeners to reflect on their own experiences.

More than just a standalone release, True Love serves as the opening chapter of Heartbreak Hotel, a collaborative EP by Jabba and Legend Harry scheduled for release on October 2, 2026. The forthcoming project marks the duo’s second body of work together and promises an honest exploration of love, loss, healing and personal growth through contemporary Afro-fusion sounds.

To further bring the song’s emotional depth to life, a companion visualiser will premiere on September 11, 2026. Built around the creative concept of “Echoes of Presence,” the visual embraces simplicity and restraint, allowing emotion, not spectacle, to take centre stage.

Jabba, who was born Abdul Jabbar Momoh, is an Afro-fusion artiste, music curator and creative innovator whose work bridges music, culture and technology.

A royal descendant from Edo State, he was raised in the historic city of Benin, where he developed a musical identity shaped by an eclectic mix of influences ranging from Afrobeat legends Fela Kuti and Eedris Abdulkareem to global icons including 2Pac, Dr. Dre, Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Westlife and Michael Jackson.

His signature sound reflects this diverse musical upbringing, fearlessly blending traditional African influences with contemporary global sounds to create music that is both deeply personal and universally relatable.

Through honest songwriting centred on love, life and the hustle, Jabba continues to build a catalogue that speaks authentically to everyday experiences while pushing the boundaries of Afro-fusion.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the new single and the forthcoming project, Jabba said: “Heartbreak Hotel is one of the most honest projects I’ve ever made because every song is rooted in real experiences.

“True Love became the perfect introduction to the EP because it captures that universal feeling of giving your all to someone and still questioning whether love alone is enough. I believe everyone who has ever loved sincerely will find a part of themselves in this record.”

With True Love, Jabba and Legend Harry deliver more than another Afropop collaboration—they offer an authentic conversation about love’s beauty, its disappointments and the resilience that follows heartbreak.
