Adeleke’s Victory, Triumph Of People’s Will Over Political Deceit –Adebutu

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, has described the victory of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the just concluded governorship election in Osun State as a clear indication that the will of the people will always triumph over political deceit.

Adebutu, in a statement issued on Sunday by his media aide, Afolabi Orekoya, congratulated Governor Adeleke for his steadfastness, pro-people governance, and ability to firmly secure and validate the mandate freely given to him by the good people of Osun State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Adeleke winner of the August 15 governorship election following the collation of results from the 30 local government areas of Osun State.

Adeleke, who contested on the platform of Accord Party, polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger and the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji, who garnered 444,815 votes.

But while congratulating him, Adebutu noted that Adeleke’s success story in Osun served as a beacon of hope for the people.

The PDP chieftain, who also used the opportunity to address the political climate in Ogun State, took a swipe at the APC, declaring that the ruling party was rapidly losing its grip on the electorate.

He maintained that the people of Ogun State “are now fully awake to the failures of the APC administration” and would stop the party from governing the state through their votes.

“I heartily congratulate my brother, Governor Ademola Adeleke, for proving that when the people stand firmly behind a leader, no force can subvert their will. His strides in Osun are a testament to what the people really need —good governance and genuine empathy for the masses,” Adebutu stated.

“Let this also serve as a clear notice to the ruling party here in Ogun State. The APC is a sinking ship in Ogun State. The people have seen through the facade, and I say this with all sense of responsibility: no amount of padding—whether it is the padding of election figures, padding of contracts, or political theatrics—can stop the APC from sinking in Ogun State. Their days of holding the state backward are numbered,” he added.

Adebutu reiterated his commitment to reclaiming what he described as the “stolen mandate” of Ogun people by APC, urging PDP loyalists and residents of the state to remain resolute.

Adebutu further prayed for Governor Adeleke, wishing him continued wisdom and strength to pilot the affairs of Osun State to greater heights, while expressing confidence that the “light of the PDP” will soon illuminate Ogun State.
